Yes, in instances where you have an outward-swinging door, the barriers will need to be installed from the outside. Therefore, you will need to turn the barriers around so the controls are facing outwards. They will be equally effective in this position. Although the controls will be more exposed to the elements, the barriers will still serve their purpose and hold back the water. Small weep holes are added to the product, designed to let the water flow back out.

After use, we recommend that you hose the barrier down to maintain it.
